Song for the Mute and adidas Originals return for their seventh collaboration with ADI007, continuing an ongoing dialogue between the Australian label and the iconic sportswear imprint. Launching Friday 15th May at 10:00 AM AEST, the collection draws from the quiet nostalgia of mismatched childhood uniforms, recalling hand-me-down sportswear, worn school shoes and the instinctive styling of youth.
Footwear anchors the collection through two reworked silhouettes. The SFTM TOKYO references vintage school gym shoes, pairing lightweight nylon and mesh uppers with elasticated ballerina-inspired construction, paint-splattered suede overlays, and deliberately scuffed outsoles. Alongside it, the SAMBA LX FREIZEIT reinterprets the everyday school shoe through structured leather uppers, stitched welt detailing and muted, uniform-inspired finishes.
Apparel follows the same imperfect language. Cotton twill track jackets are interrupted with plaid inserts and packable construction, while slubbed rugby shirts, distressed graphic tees and relaxed tailoring channel a wardrobe assembled over time. Faded blues, chalky neutrals, rigid greys and muted browns run throughout the collection, reinforcing the worn-in familiarity central to ADI007.
Accessories round out the release with washed caps and softly structured canvas totes featuring handwritten graphics and scuffed finishes, continuing the collection’s lived-in narrative.
The Song for the Mute x adidas Originals ADI007 collection launches Friday, 15th May at 10:00 AM AEST online at Above The Clouds.
