Potato Head began in 2010 as a beach club in Seminyak, Bali, and has since grown into one of the island's best-known destinations, a resort village described by its makers as a regenerative hospitality brand inspired by Bali for the world. Its latest arrival at Above The Clouds looks beyond the beachfront and to the things made there.
The label's clothing and accessories are designed by Daisuke Yokoyama, drawing on Bali's local craftsmanship and artisanal techniques. Open-collar shirts come tie-dyed and in ikat, t-shirts are plant-dyed, and oversized shorts keep everything relaxed, all made in Indonesia.
The story goes further with Wasted by Potato Head. Directed by British designer Max Lamb, Wasted turns discarded materials into purposeful design, treating waste as the raw material of the future. Its first collection, the result of a five-year collaboration, launched back in August 2025.
The idea is rooted in how Potato Head already operates. Through in-house research and closed-loop waste systems at its resort, known as Desa, the team reports diverting 99.5 per cent of its waste from landfill in Bali. Wasted carries that thinking beyond the gates and into homes.
The range spans eight material families: recycled plastic, broken glassware, compost-dyed linens, rag rugs, broken-glaze ceramic, Styroshell, bamboo and candles made from waste cooking oil. Balinese weavers, glassblowers and ceramicists make each piece by hand, so no two pieces are exactly alike.
At Above The Clouds, the current Wasted collection includes the Flat Plastic Chair in both white and grey, a series of ‘Broken Glassware’ pieces, Styroshell trays and the WCO candle.
Potato Head describes its aim simply: to enable people to use better. Providing a thoughtful way to bring a little piece of Bali into your home.
