Golf Le Fleur* takes to the court with exclusive Lacoste collection

Off the back of massive success from his 5th studio album ‘IGOR’ and at the peak of European tennis fever, there is no better time to be seeing another Tyler, The Creator collaboration, this time with sportswear giant Lacoste. The collab is appropriately titled ‘Golf Le Coste’.

We are excited to announce the in-store release of Tyler, the Creators debut collaboration with Lacoste, which will be exclusive to Above the Clouds in Australia.

First previewed in early June by the rapper himself who is seen sitting court-side at the French Open, fans of his music, Golf Le Fleur* brand and previous collaborations were given a taste of what was to come from his from this collection.

Finally, we have been given a full look at what is to come from this capsule collection through a range of look book images and videos and it is nothing short of true Golf Le Fleur* style.

Traditionally, Lacoste is a brand synonymous with clean, preppy and sophisticated sportswear silhouettes in their clothing and footwear that truly represent the prestige of The French Open, Wimbledon, etc. However, as of recent as seen in collaboration with New York artist Keith Haring, Lacoste has shown a more modernised and playful side that pushes the boundaries of its roots.

The capsule speaks true to Golf Le Fleur’s signature springtime; the floral palette exceeds the bounds of retrospective ‘masculine’ colours.

The 16 piece collection is mostly divided into two colour schemes that all feature colour blocking and in true Tyler fashion feature unique colour names.

‘Litchi’, pale pink as well as ‘mascarpone’, an off-white can be seen the furry wool cardigan, long and short sleeve polo’s, shorts, bucket hat and socks to match.

If you prefer a refreshing bright blue instead, it can be seen on a full tracksuit set, long and short sleeve polos, shorts, tees, as well as a bucket hat and socks.

To top it all off, the rapper draws inspiration from the signature Lacoste green in the form of a varsity jacket that features a green torso, elasticised wrists, waistband, and collar. It also includes leather sleeves. Of course, what makes the varsity jacket perfect is the fusion between Golf le Fleur* and Lacoste branding.

It is quite clear however, that the hype around the collaboration is grounded in the fusion of branding between the street and sportswear brands. Tyler has taken the legacy behind Lacoste’s crocodile and has made it his own. The crocodile's body now takes the form of letters spelling ‘Golf’, and a tiny flower is seen in the crocodile's mouth.

We are more than excited to exclusively bring this collection to you. We will be releasing the 16-piece capsule on Thursday, 18th July in-store at 10 AM, with remaining stock left online at 12PM.
